And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!
It will be Mother’s Day in two days. For all of you who are a mom or have a mom I wish you a beautiful day. For all of you who yearn to be a mom but cannot or who’s mom has passed away, I wish for you a beautiful day. For all of you who do not want to have a child of your own or who’s relationship with your own mother is strained or non-existent I wish for you a beautiful day. Each of you deserves a beautiful day for the beautiful people you are!
This is a picture of me and my mom. One of my favorites. I have it in a frame on a shelf in my family room. I often smile when I see that sassy little girl sitting on her mom’s lap. Then it makes me think about my own daughter’s who resemble that little girl in the picture.
I’m thankful to God that he loved me enough to create me. I’m thankful to God that he loved me enough to place me in a home where I learned to be thoughtful, creative, and independent. I’m thankful to God that he trusted me enough to place my children under my care. I’m thankful to God that he made me for a purpose that only I can fulfill while I’m here on earth.
Each of us is unique and created by God. We have talents and gifts bestowed on us that are perfect for exactly what we need to accomplish. We were given to our parents and our children were given to us specifically because we needed each other and were created for each other.
On the eve of Mother’s Day weekend, I just wanted to remind you all that you are each unique and special and needed. You are loved so deeply by God that he formed you and placed you here. That is amazing to think about. The love and devotion God has for us.
This is why I love the story of Isaiah’s commission in Isaiah chapter 6. It descriptively tells about how Isaiah sees the Lord and accepts the work he will do. He is the hands and feet of our Lord and he experiences the awesomeness of God giving that gift to him.
Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Remember that only you can do what you do. Only you can be who you are. You are a once in a lifetime person. JUST BE YOU my friends! Today please read Isaiah 6 and remember that God has commissioned you to be you. You will accomplish great things in his name! Tell God today, “HERE I AM. SEND ME!”
